Sinks and faucets

Every game economy needs 'faucets' (ways tokens enter the game, like earning rewards) and 'sinks' (ways tokens leave the game, like paying fees or upgrading items). If faucets outpace sinks for too long, the token supply inflates and value collapses, a common failure mode in early play-to-earn titles.

Well-designed games balance this deliberately: cosmetic purchases, crafting costs, and entry fees all act as sinks that keep the economy from flooding with tokens no one wants to buy anymore.
