Why Gamers Actually Care About This · 1/2

You've never really owned your items

In a traditional game, the sword you grinded 200 hours for lives on the publisher's server. If the game shuts down, gets rebalanced, or bans your account, that sword is gone, you never actually owned it, you rented access to it.

Blockchain games can mint items as tokens that live in your own wallet, not the publisher's database. That means you can trade them, sell them, or carry them to another game that supports the same standard, ownership that survives the developer's decisions.
