Functional Safety & Robot Certification Standards
Advanced Β· 5 lessons Β· 0 complete
Robots that share space with people, handle patients, or operate heavy machinery can't rely on good intentions or a single well-placed guard rail. This course covers functional safety as its own engineering discipline: the systematic process of identifying hazards, deciding how much rigor each one demands, building redundancy and fail-safe behavior into the control system, and proving all of it to an independent certifier before the robot is allowed to operate. It's the framework that turns scattered safety features into a defensible, auditable safety case.
