Legged Robot Locomotion

The capstone course in the Robot Control & Dynamics track, applying everything from dynamics, PID feedback control, and motion planning to the hardest practical control problem in robotics: keeping a legged robot balanced while it walks, trots, or runs. This course is not a broad tour of humanoid robots, it is a focused, mechanics-first look at the locomotion and balance problem itself, center of mass, support polygons, gait cycles, and the reactive control loops that keep bipeds and quadrupeds upright. Meant for learners who've completed the first three courses in the track and want to understand exactly why walking is so much harder to control than rolling.
