Robotics engineering courses tend to stop at control theory and kinematics, but a robot that works correctly still has to be deployed safely, and that's a genuinely separate engineering discipline. This course covers why robot safety standards exist, what ISO 10218 and ISO/TS 15066 actually require conceptually, the real hardware and software mechanisms that make robots safe to be near, and why safety engineering is a practical, often underestimated constraint on how fast a robotics company can actually ship.
